List of members of the Carinthian state parliament (12th legislative period)

This list of members of the Carinthian state parliament (12th legislative period) lists all the members of the Carinthian constitutional parliament in the 12th legislative period. The legislative period began with the constituent session of the state parliament on July 5, 1921 and ended after 35 sessions with the inauguration of the subsequent state parliament on November 6, 1923. On July 22, 1921, the state parliament elected the Gröger state government .

In the state elections in 1921 , the first free state elections, the Socialist Workers' Party of Austria (SDAP) won 19 of 42 seats. The "Kärntner Wahlgemeinschaft", an electoral alliance of the Carinthian Farmers 'Union (KBB) with various groups such as the German National Socialist Workers' Party (DNSAP), won 9 mandates, one of which was occupied by the DNSAP. The Christian Social Party had eight seats, the Greater German People's Party (GDVP) four seats and the Carinthian Slovenes Party (KSS) two seats. After the deputies were sworn in, the mandataries of the Greater German People's Party, the Carinthian Farmers 'Union and the mandate of the German National Socialist Workers' Party united to form a state parliament club called the "Association of German-Liberal Parliament Members".

Functions

Landtag President

On July 5, 1921, Julius Lukas (SDAP) was elected First President of the State Parliament by the State Parliament. He also received 42 of 42 votes, as did Viktor Waldner (KBB) who was elected second president and Karl Rokitansky (CS) who was elected third president.

Club chairmen

The "Club of the Social Democratic Landtag Members" elected Julius Lukas as its chairman , and Franz Pichler-Mandorf took over the role as his deputy . In the 9th session of the Landtag on December 20, 1921, Lukas' replacement as club chairman was announced, and August Neutzler succeeded him as club chairman. The “Club of Christian Social Members of the Landtag” elected Franz Reinprecht as chairman, his deputy was Silvester Leer . Ferdinand Kernmaier held the function of chairman of the “Association of German Liberal Members of the State Parliament”, Fritz Dörflinger was his deputy .

Committees

After a constitutional committee was installed in the first session of the state parliament, the other committees were elected in the third session on July 22, 1921. At this meeting a finance committee, a legal committee, an agriculture and agriculture committee and a construction committee were elected. In addition, the verification committee was elected in the 4th meeting on July 29, 1921. On April 5, 1922, an electoral reform committee was also set up.
