from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This list of members of the Carinthian state parliament (27th legislative period) lists all the members of the Carinthian state parliament in the 27th legislative period. The legislative period lasted from the constituent session of the state parliament on April 19, 1994 to the inauguration of the subsequent state parliament on April 8, 1999.

After the state elections in 1994 , 14 of the 36 seats went to the Socialist Party of Austria (SPÖ), which lost three seats. The Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) came to 13 seats after gaining two seats, while the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) recorded a plus of one seat and had 9 members.

After the FPÖ MPs had prevented the election of the state government several times by moving out of the state parliament, the MPs only elected the state government Zernatto II in the 7th session on June 7, 1994 and thus made Christof Zernatto (ÖVP) the representative of the smallest state parliament party to governor . In the opening session on April 21, 1994, the Landtag elected Josef Pfeifer (SPÖ), Georg Kerschbaumer (SPÖ), Peter Harring (FPÖ), Helmut Prasch (FPÖ) and August Eberhard (ÖVP) as members of the Federal Council .
