List of Members of the Carinthian State Parliament (18th legislative period)
This list of members of the Carinthian state parliament (18th legislative period) lists all the members of the Carinthian state parliament in the 18th legislative period. The legislative period lasted from the constituent session of the state parliament on March 17, 1953 to the inauguration of the subsequent state parliament in 1956.
After the state elections in 1953 , 18 of the 36 mandates went to the Socialist Party of Austria (SPÖ), 11 to the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP), 6 to the electoral party of the Independent (WdU) and 1 mandate to the People's Opposition Electoral Community (VO). Due to the small number of mandates, however, the VO had no club status.
The state parliament elected the state government Wedenig III , whereby the election failed in the first attempt because the mandataries from the ÖVP and WdU left. The election was continued after a break in the session on April 28, 1953, in which the election of the members of the government took place. In addition, in the first session on March 17th, the MPs elected Hans Herke (SPÖ), Hans Sima (SPÖ) and Adolf Lukeschitz (ÖVP) as members of the Federal Council .

- ↑ According to his own statements, Scrinzi resigned his membership of the WdU club because his club colleague Albrecht Alberti did not want to resign from his mandate for a month despite being prohibited from working as a lawyer.
