Ingo Schmidt-Lucas
Ingo Schmidt-Lucas (* 1972 in Mainz ) is a German sound engineer.
Life
After graduating from high school, Ingo Schmidt-Lucas began his training as a "sound and image engineer" at the Robert Schumann University of Applied Sciences in Düsseldorf, majoring in piano. In 1999 he finished his studies.
In 1994 Schmidt-Lucas founded the Cybele Records label for new and classical music. At the end of the 1990s, he began to deal increasingly with surround sound productions; In 2000 he set up his first surround sound recording studio.
In the same year he and his wife, actress and speaker Mirjam Wiesemann founded the audio book series Wort & Musik, the world's first SACD series in which radio plays and audio books are produced exclusively in surround sound.
In 2011, the high-resolution download portal hd-klassik.com was founded. In addition to high-resolution stereo and surround downloads in the lossless FLAC and DSD formats, 8-channel aurophonic recordings with classical music in the form of downloads and USB sticks are also being offered worldwide for the first time on hd-klassik.com.
Schmidt-Lucas held lectures, seminars and workshops in the areas of recording technology, surround sound and studio electronics, etc. a. at the Conservatory for Music and Dance Rotterdam, at the Institute for Computer Music and Electronic Media at the Folkwang University in Essen , at the Institute for Media, Communication and Information Technology (MKI) at the University of Applied Sciences in Düsseldorf , at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and as part of the AES Convention and trade fairs CanJam, HighEnd, KlangBilder and Tonmeistertagung.
Since 2012 he has been teaching recording technology as part of his teaching assignment at the Institute for Music and Media at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf. He also teaches the optional module recording technology / music production for master’s students at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf.
Since 2015 he has been teaching music production at the Cologne University of Music and Dance , Wuppertal department.
In 2013 he increasingly began research in the field of 3D recording technology (binaural artificial head stereophony ) - with the kind support of HEAD acoustics GmbH. In 2016 one of his first 3D binaural productions (Johann Georg Linike: Mortorium) was awarded the Echo Klassik special prize in the Audiophile multi-channel recording of the year category (special prize: 3D headphone recording) ; a category that was awarded for the first time by the ECHO jury in 2016.
In May 2015 presentation of the first device development in the field of entertainment electronics (hd-classic "Headphone Optimizer") - an analog headphone amplifier with individual optimization - at the HighEnd fair in close cooperation with the company rd analog audio. In October 2015 the Headphone Optimizer won the "German Design Award 2016".
He works with various radio and television companies, including a. arte, Arthaus, Bayerischer Rundfunk, Deutschlandfunk, DeutschlandRadio Kultur, FAVO Filmproduktion, KRO Radio 4, Norddeutscher Rundfunk, Südwestrundfunk, Czech Radio, Unitel Classica, VPRO Radio 4 and Westdeutscher Rundfunk. Since 2003 he has been working regularly as a sound engineer for Deutschlandfunk.
He is married to the actress Mirjam Wiesemann and has two children.
