Koninklijk Conservatorium The Hague
The Koninklijk Conservatorium ( German Royal Conservatory ) in The Hague , Netherlands , is a higher education institution ( college ) for music and dance . It is counted among the leading music institutions in the country.
The conservatory was founded by King Wilhelm I in 1826 . In 1990 the Royal Conservatory merged with the Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten (Royal Academy of Fine Arts) to form the Hogeschool van Beeldende Kunsten, Muziek en Dans (University of Fine Arts, Music and Dance) and now forms the Faculty of Music and Dance. Among other things, there is a collaboration with the Kröller-Müller Museum . The conservatory is one of the partners of the "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" University of Music and Theater in Leipzig .
The Conservatory offers bachelor's and master's degrees in the fields of European classical music , early music , jazz , sonology (sound and sound studies), image and sound / art studies, sound art, musical composition , ballet , opera , creative arts and performing arts . There are also professorships for “Lifelong Music Learning” and for “Artistry21” (concert artistry in the 21st century) as well as a master’s degree in music education .
