Ingrid Schneider (born November 30, 1946 in Schmidthachenbach as Ingrid Klein ; † March 13, 2013 in Zweibrücken ) was a German SPD politician .

Life

After attending the vocational school and the agricultural school, Schneider worked as a commercial clerk. She had been a housewife since 1966. She was married and had two children.

politics

Schneider joined the SPD in 1970, where she was a member of the board of both the local association and the Rhineland-Palatinate state association . From 1979 to 1999 she was a member of the city council of Zweibrücken. In 1983 she was elected to the state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate for the first time , to which she belonged until 2001. In 1991 and 1996 she won the direct mandate in the constituency of Zweibrücken . During the 12th electoral term , which lasted from 1991 to 1996, she was deputy parliamentary group leader of the SPD. In addition, she was a member of several committees.

Schneider was also active outside of politics: she belonged to the Zweibrücker Arbeiterwohlfahrt , in which she held various offices, including that of chairman. In addition, she was a member of the state board of the AWO. She also chaired the advisory board of the Zweibrücken penal institution . She was also involved in the Evangelical State Association for Inner Mission in the Palatinate . Their commitment was primarily aimed at weaker and disadvantaged people.
