Ingrid Wenz-Gahler (born 1946 in Bitterfeld , Saxony-Anhalt ) is a German interior designer and specialist book author .

Career

Ingrid Wenz-Gahler grew up in Bad Lobenstein in Thuringia, where she was already the Tecco correspondent for the children's radio DDR. In 1960 she and her family fled to the Federal Republic of Germany, to Frankfurt am Main . There she graduated from high school and completed a distance learning course in graphic design and illustration at the Famous Artists School (Westport CT).

After training as an industrial clerk at what was then Hoechst AG in Frankfurt, she studied interior design at the Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences in Detmold. She then worked as a freelancer in a Frankfurt architecture office for exhibition stand design. In addition, she did extensive teaching, consulting and lecturing activities and had three teaching positions at the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences , the Wiesbaden University of Applied Sciences and the University of Gießen .

Wenz-Gahler has been working as a specialist journalist for design, architecture and trade magazines since 1986, but since 1995 mainly in specialist journals for trade fairs and events, as well as being a book author and lecturer. She has lived and worked in South Baden since 2013.
