Ingrid Werner

Ingrid Werner (born November 30, 1935 in Forst , Lausitz ) is a German jazz and pop singer (sometimes also under the name Nina Westen ).

Live and act

Werner, whose mother was a violinist and whose sister was also a singer, grew up in Heidelberg , where she took dance and acting lessons. B. performed in American soldiers' clubs. She performed with jazz bands in Germany and France. In 1956 Johannes Rediske brought her to Berlin as a singer in his quintet. The following year she recorded with him the tracks "I Only Have Eyes For You", " Lover, Come Back to Me " and "Moonlight in Vermont". In 1958 she received a film contract and appeared in several Ufa films as a singer. Then she also worked with the Berlin cabaret Die Stachelschweine in the film Flucht nach Berlin (1960) and briefly as a TV announcer at the SFB .

Her voice was rated by the magazine Star-Revue as "rough, sexy and trained on the models of American jazz". In 1958 she moved to Schlagerlager, took part in the hit parade and often appeared (as Nina Westen) in the Haifischbar television show series . In 1970 she married the television director Günther Würtz and ended her career as a singer.
