According to media reports, Injaz was born on April 8, 2009 in Dubai . Researchers at the Camel Reproduction Center in Nakhali (Dubai) removed ovarian cells from an adult mare slaughtered in 2005 and fused them with egg cells from which the nucleus had previously been removed. After Injaz was born, DNA was examined in the genetics lab at Dubai's Central Veterinary Research Laboratory to confirm that Injaz was indeed a clone of the original camel.
