Inken Gallner

Inken Gallner (born July 27, 1964 in Calw ) is a German lawyer and presiding judge at the Federal Labor Court .

Career

Inken Gallner studied law in Konstanz and Tübingen . She began her judicial work in February 1994 at the Mannheim Labor Court as a trial reporter. She then worked as a scheduled judge at the labor court at the labor courts in Stuttgart and Heilbronn . During this time she was seconded to the Federal Labor Court as a research assistant from 1998 to 2000 . In mid-May 2007 she was appointed judge at the Federal Labor Court. Until June 2014 she was a member of the 6th Senate, which was responsible in particular for the interpretation of collective agreements.

On February 7, 2013, Gallner became press spokeswoman for the Federal Labor Court, after having previously worked as deputy press spokeswoman for several years. For her work in this function, she was awarded the “short wire” award by the Thuringia state press conference in July 2013 as the best press spokesperson.

From July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2016, Gallner was on leave as a federal judge and was ministerial director and head of the Ministry of Justice in Baden-Württemberg and thus deputy to the Minister of Justice.

Since July 1, 2016 Inken Gallner has been a member of the 6th Senate of the Federal Labor Court again. On October 27, 2017, she took over the chairmanship of the Tenth Senate of the Federal Labor Court, after the Federal President had appointed her as the presiding judge at the Federal Labor Court.

Teaching assignment

Inken Gallner has been teaching international and European labor law at the University of Münster WWU since 2018.

Before that, she had a teaching position at the University of Konstanz since the 2016/2017 winter semester.

Leadership course

Inken Gallner is a graduate of the 14th leadership course at the Baden-Württemberg Leadership Academy (2001/2002).

Volunteering

Gallner was appointed to the Board of Trustees of the German Foundation for Patient Protection in November 2018 .
