Inner shell

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Inner sleeves are precisely fitting plastic linings for all types of transport and storage containers and serve as accessories for hobbocks, steel and plastic IBCs, FIBCs, plastic and sheet steel barrels, beer tanks, containers and cardboard boxes.

advantages

Inner sleeves protect the containers used from contamination by the contents and thus make cleaning superfluous. The inner shell is placed in the container, filled and, after emptying, simply removed and disposed of. The container stays clean. In addition, the contents are protected from environmental influences, since inner casings offer a very good barrier against O 2 and H 2 O.

Container types

Inner sleeves are available for

material

Inner sleeves are made of the plastic types polyethylene , polypropylene and polyamide . Depending on the product, certain properties can also be given to the plastic. By adding additives , z. B. conductive foils are produced, which are used in the filling of explosive goods.

The materials used can be divided into three main groups :

  • Monofilms made from one type of plastic
  • Coextruded films made from several types of plastic
  • Aluminum composite foils

Monofilms

  • made of LDPE

It is characterized by its water vapor barrier and flexibility and is particularly versatile. By adding additives , lubricious, non-blocking and antistatic LDPE can be created. This results in better handling when placing in the surrounding area such as a barrel, hobbock or drum.

  • HDPE

HDPE is produced using the low pressure process and is characterized by its high density. It has a higher strength and heat resistance than LDPE and therefore is mainly used for hot-fill to 100 ° C .

Polyamides are semi-crystalline thermoplastic polymers and are characterized by high strength, rigidity and toughness . They have a good chemical resistance and are used for solvent-based products and hot fillings up to 170, mainly for sterilizable round-bottom bags and in barrier materials.

Polypropylene is another plastic. It has higher rigidity, hardness and strength than polyethylene. However, these are lower than with other plastics such. B. polyamide. Polypropylene is resistant to alcohols , organic solvents and fats . Hot fillings are possible up to 125 ° C.

Coextrusion films

Coextrusion films consist of several layers of plastic that are bonded to one another during production of the film. Multi-layer films combine the properties of the individual plastics. Polyamide, for example, contains an oxygen barrier and a chemical barrier. A film made of polyamide and polyethylene has the properties of both components .

Aluminum composite foils

Aluminum composite foils consist of one or more layers of plastic and aluminum that are combined with one another. The aluminum layer prevents the penetration of water vapor and the escape of aromatic substances . Aluminum composite foils offer a good barrier effect and are therefore particularly suitable for hygroscopic goods.

species

The use of the inner shell depends on the type of container.

Form inliner

Mold inliners are made from a plastic plate by heating it and then pulling it into a mold. They nestle seamlessly against the container and are therefore the ideal lining for filling goods that are stirred up or pumped out, as well as when using follower plates. Form-Inliner ™ guarantee easy removal of the rest of the product. Hot fillings are possible up to 120 ° C.

Round bottom sacks

Round bottom sacks consist of a tubular casing part and a bottom blank, which are welded together using a special process. This technology offers the highest level of tear resistance . The fit reduces the formation of creases and pockets, as they occur with conventional flat bags, and allows the filling product to be removed almost completely.

Inner sleeves for cardboard boxes and FIBC

Cubiflex

Cubiflex are z. B. produced from extruded polyethylene gusseted tubes with low particles. The adapted inlet and outlet nozzles guarantee clean and dust-free filling and removal.

Flexotainer

Flexotainers are made from two plastic sheets with filling and emptying devices in one operation. They convince with their unique combination of flexibility and robustness . Thanks to their optimal tightness, Flexotainers guarantee the safe transport of liquids .

Inner sleeves for 20 'and 40' ISO containers

Inner casings for containers are filled either through the door using a nozzle or, in the case of top loaders, through the dome cover. They are equipped with holding ropes, door protection cardboard made of strong corrugated cardboard , safety bars made of metal and lateral residue emptying aids made of corrugated cardboard. Suitable for all types of granules .

Inner sleeves for beer storage tanks

Inner sleeves for beer storage tanks are made of plastic films specially developed for the storage of beer. They are tailored to the extreme temperature and pressure conditions in the storage tank. The driving pressure and the service life are decisive for the selection of the suitable beer tank shell . The special way of laying it ensures that it unfolds itself during filling.
