Ins Holz is a Swiss short film by Corina Schwingruber Iliíc and Thomas Horat from 2017. It shows how trees are felled in the traditional way in the steep mountain forest and then loosened on the Ägerisee .

action

On the steep slopes of the mountains above Lake Aegeri in Central Switzerland , wood is felled for three months every winter. The logs are then brought to the shore of the lake and transported from there as a fin. The woodcutters are following an old tradition that has lasted to this day and of which they are proud.

production

The film was made over 15 months under sometimes very difficult environmental conditions. Therefore, minimal camera equipment had to be used. Cinematographer Luzius Wespe: "So I was able to hold the camera with one hand and hold onto something with the other."

The world premiere was in 2017 at the Festival International du Court Métrage à Clermont-Ferrand .

reception

The film received a lot of attention from the foresters' world, especially in Canada and Scandinavia.
