The Institut d'études politiques de Toulouse , ( Sciences Po Toulouse , IEP Toulouse ) is an Institut d'études politiques located on the campus of the University of Toulouse I in the center of Toulouse . It is one of the nine Instituts d'études politiques in France today and, as a grande école, part of the French elite higher education system.

The institute was founded by decree of May 5, 1948 on the model of the IEP Paris as Institut d'études politiques de l'université de Toulouse and in 1969 renamed Institut d'études politiques de Toulouse. In addition to the IEP Paris and its branch offices, it is now one of eight Institut d'études politiques de Province that are affiliated with local universities.

At the IEP Toulouse around 1700 students are taught by around 50 scholars in the subjects of political science , law , economics , sociology , history and geography . As is customary at Grandes écoles, admission usually takes place via concours .

Among the graduates are some well-known French journalists and politicians, including former ministers Jacques Godfrain and Henri Cuq .
