The conference on the future in project management (abbreviation: interPM ) was a scientific conference series on the subject of project management , which takes place once a year from 2003 to 2010 in Glashütten im Taunus . The interPM is from the German Association for Project Management (GPM) and the Society for computer science oriented (GI). In the meantime, the InterPM has merged into the PVM conference (project management and process models). The contributions of the past conferences were published in the proceedings.

overview

The interPM was held for the first time in 2003 out of the need to think outside the box and to make knowledge and methods from other disciplines available to project management. In contrast to events such as the PM Forum (as the best-known German-language pure PM conference), which is aimed more at the broad mass of project managers, interPM concentrates the initiators of German project management in one place. InterPM has a primarily interdisciplinary approach, which can be seen, for example, in the interdisciplinary key notes.

From the outset, the focus of InterPM should not be on the lectures, but rather offer space for discussions. Therefore, the Open Space method was an important part of the conference from the start. The conference fee was calculated from the start on a cost basis.

In the meantime, the content of the InterPM has merged with the conference "Workshop Procedure Models" of the Gesellschaft für Informatik eV and has been held since 2014 as a new conference on project management and procedure models.

procedure

The respective conference topic is introduced by two to three keynote speakers and then supplemented by a large number of lectures in the mornings in various thematically structured streams. Twice a day, topics for open space sessions are collected and explained. These open space sessions take place in the afternoon in their own rooms. The event thus benefits greatly from the top-class participants, who either discuss and clarify the detailed questions of individual lectures or other current topics around the conference topic in the open space sessions. The overall results will be published in a conference proceedings.
