from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The interest group of German-speaking authors e. V. (IGdA) is a transnational association with the purpose and aim of promoting the literary activities of its members through conferences, regional meetings and seminars, as well as through the association's own publications.

The association, founded by Rudolf Descher in Hanover in May 1967 , organizes an annual general meeting of several days at a different location each year and awards two literary prizes at these meetings: the Rudolf Descher pen and, since 2015, the IGdA young author prize every second year. Since 2015, the association has published a literary almanac every two years, most recently under the title 'Fire Dance of Poetry'. The association magazine "IGdA-aktuell: magazine for literature, art and criticism" appears three times a year.
