Johanna Jonas-Lichtenwallner

Johanna Jonas-Lichtenwallner (actually Johanna Jonas ; born on September 5, 1914 in Vienna ; died on June 12, 2002 there ) was an Austrian writer.

Life

Jonas grew up in the Waldviertel . After studying German, history, philosophy and religious studies at the University of Vienna , she organized and directed literary events and adult education courses for two decades. She was the first chairwoman of the Vienna Women's Club and was a board member in numerous domestic and foreign clubs and associations. In 1965 she published her first volume of poetry and in the following years numerous other volumes of poetry, books for young people and children, novels and collections of sagas. She also worked as an editor of anthologies.
