Hermann Wischnat

Hermann Wischnat (born October 14, 1936 in Heiligelinde , Rastenburg district ; † June 5, 2018 in Bad Laer ) was a German poet and educator .

Life

Hermann Wischnat was born in Heiligelinde in 1936. In the course of the flight and expulsion of Germans from Central and Eastern Europe in 1945–1950 , the family came to Lower Saxony and lived near Osnabrück . For a while he taught as a teacher in the school and worked in the school administration. In 1980 Wischnat made his debut as a poet with the volume of poetry From the arduous path to perfection . In the period from 1983 to 2012, eleven volumes of poetry followed and in 1997/98 he edited the anthology Words grow through the wall . He has published poetry and short satirical prose in literary magazines, newspapers, anthologies and on the radio. For a while, Hermann Wischnat was the editor of a literary magazine. He belonged to the literary group Osnabrück for years.
