Brigitta Weiss

Brigitta Weiss (born May 30, 1949 in Wetzlar ; † July 2, 2013 ) was a German writer .

Life

Brigitta Weiss was the daughter of a farmer . She grew up on her parents' farm . After graduating from school in 1967 , she studied Protestant theology at the universities in Bielefeld , Frankfurt am Main and Munich , and after moving to the University of Giessen, she also studied German and English . She dropped out of college for family reasons. Since 1975 she has lived as a freelance writer in Bad Lauterberg in the Harz region .

Brigitta Weiss' work consists mainly of poems .

She was a member of the Association of German Writers , the PEN Center Germany , the Interest Group of German-Speaking Authors (IGdA) and the Innsbruck Society of Poetry Friends . In 2004 she received the Rudolf-Descher-Feder of the interest group of German-speaking authors.
