International Institute of Islamic Science and Technology

The International Institute of Islamic Science and Technology ( IIIST ; International Institute of Islamic Science and Technology ) was founded in 1987 in Washington, DC in the United States and in February 1988 as a non-profit corporation , with Professor Hossein Nasr von the George Washington University as Chairman of the Board and SWA Husaini as Director General of the Institute.

The institute was founded by Muslim scholars from the USA , Turkey , Malaysia and Saudi Arabia . The aim is to promote and further develop Islamic science and technology through a concentrated study of the three academic areas of Islamic philosophy , sociology, and the history of science and technology and their specific applications.

The Nigerian author Rafiu Ibrahim Adebayo from the Department of Religions at the University of Ilorin in the capital of the state of Kwara in Nigeria has recently turned his research on the topics of the IIIST and the Islamization of Knowledge . Of the primary goals of the institute, it leads first of all to funding and support:

"The understanding of the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah concerning the world of nature through the use of ijtihad and ijma` and an analysis of the Islamic intellectual tradition concerning the understanding of these teachings [...] / dt. Of the understanding of the teachings of the Qur'an and the Sunnah , which concern the world of nature, through the use of ijschtihād and idschaʿ and an analysis of the Islamic intellectual tradition with regard to the understanding of these teachings [...] "
