Ilorin is the capital of the state of Kwara in Nigeria with around 1.15 million inhabitants (as of 2012). The city is located in western Nigeria on the banks of the Awun River .
history
The place was founded at the end of the 18th century. In the 1820s he was appointed as Islamic Emirate of the Fulani - Sokoto Caliphate affiliated. In 1897 British troops took the city. Ilorin has been part of the independent state of Nigeria since 1960.
economy
