Halimat Ismaila (born July 3, 1984 in Ilorin ) is a Nigerian athlete who specializes in sprinting .

She took part in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens with the 4 × 400 m relay of Nigeria, which could not qualify for the final round.

She celebrated her greatest success so far by winning the bronze medal in the 4 × 100 m relay at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing . The Nigerian sprint relay had originally not qualified for the competition and could only participate because Finland withdrew its relay at short notice. Ismaila also started in Beijing in the 100-meter run , but was eliminated in the first lap with a time of 11.72 s. On August 17, 2016, the Russian runners Julia Schermoschanskaja , Evgenia Polyakowa , Alexandra Fedoriwa and Julia Guschtschina were stripped of their 2008 gold medal in the 4 × 100 meter relay for doping. The medals of Belgium (now gold), Nigeria (now silver) and Brazil (now bronze) have been gradually adjusted.

Halimat Ismaila is 1.58 m tall and weighs 56 kg.
