The development of the phosphorus concentration in Lake Constance

successes

Through the construction and technical improvement of sewage treatment plants around Lake Constance, the phosphorus pollution of the water could be significantly reduced, which deprived the algae of an important nutrient . Furthermore, the IGKB tries to minimize the impairment of the ecosystem through landfills, port facilities as well as use by water sports and shipping and to renature built-up shore zones . Fighting accidents with water-polluting substances such as oil is also part of the IGKB's range of tasks.
