    The International Coffee Organization ( International Coffee Organization , ICO) is the most important international organization in the field of trade in coffee .

    The ICO was founded in 1962 under the auspices of the United Nations . It is based in London . It consists of 76 states, including 43 coffee exporters and 33 importing countries. So far, six so-called International Coffee Agreements (ICA) have been concluded within this framework .

    Germany, Austria and Switzerland also belong to the ICO as importing countries.
