International Institute for Nationality Law and Regionalism

The International Institute for Nationality Law and Regionalism ( INTEREG ) is dedicated to minority issues , regional democracy and nationality and international law in the context of research, publications, conferences and adult education. It is a non-profit association based in Munich , where it is housed on the premises of the Ackermann community .

Principles and working method

The aim of INTEREG is to participate in a nationality and ethnic group law that implements the principles of regional democracy . In the past, the institute's work has focused on independent and long-term conflict management, for example in South Africa and the Middle East . In the meantime, the institute concentrates primarily on the situation of minorities, in particular, as the topics of the annual meetings and publications show, in East Central Europe . As part of this, a “proposal for a provision for the protection of minorities in the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union” has been drawn up.

Around 100 personalities from different professions, disciplines and origins work together to implement these principles. The institute works closely with the groups concerned.
