The Invicta was a 1905 ferry of the British railway company South Eastern and Chatham Railway , which was in service until 1933.

The ship

The 1,680 gross register tons steamship Invicta was built at the William Denny and Brothers shipyard in Dumbarton , Scotland , and was launched there on April 19, 1905. In June 1905 the ship was completed. The 94.9 meter long and 12.2 meter wide Invicta was powered by three Parsons turbines , which ran on three propellers and enabled a top speed of 22 knots.

The steamer served for years as a ferry from Dover (England) to Calais (France). In 1923 the Invicta was sold to SA de Gerance et d'Armement in France and in April 1933 it was finally broken up in Dunkirk .
