Inzamam-ul-Haq (born March 3, 1970 in Multan , Punjab , Pakistan ) is a retired Pakistani cricketer .
Career
Inzamam-ul-Haq took part in 120 tests for the Pakistani test cricket team, in which he scored a total of 8830 runs (49.60 runs per wicket ). This is the second highest number of runs a Pakistani cricketer has ever scored. He was only missing three runs to catch up with fellow countryman Javed Miandad . Inzamam-ul-Haq made his test debut in June 1992 against England in Birmingham . In a test against New Zealand in 2001 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore , he scored 329 runs. To date, that is the second highest number of runs that a Pakistani cricketer has achieved in a test. His last use in a test was against the South African team in October 2007 in Lahore. Inzamam-ul-Haq also played 378 One-Day International Cricket Matches (ODIs) for Pakistan, in which he scored a total of 11,739 runs (39.52 runs per wicket). He is one of only eight cricketers and the only Pakistani cricketer to have scored at least 10,000 ODI runs. Inzamam-ul-Haq took part with the Pakistani team in five cricket world championships (1992, 1996, 1999, 2003 and 2007). In 1992 he was able to win the World Cup with the Pakistani team and was instrumental in this success. His performance, especially in the semi-finals against New Zealand, was decisive for the game, for which he also received the "Man of the Match" award in this game.
