Ioan Lupaş (born June 8, 1914 in Arad , Austria-Hungary , † April 8, 1981 ) was a Romanian football player and coach . He denied 124 games in the Divizia A . With Venus Bucharest he won the Romanian championship in 1940.
Career
After his youth at Olimpia Arad, Lupaş moved to ASCAM Bucharest in 1933 . In 1935 Gloria Arad brought him back to his hometown. There he became a regular in Divizia A. With his team he secured three times to stay in the class. He finished the 1937/38 season in third place. In the summer of 1938 he joined the promoted Tricolor CFPV Ploieşti . At the end of the 1938/39 season he finished eleventh with his team and had to relegate. Then the reigning master Venus Bucharest signed him . There he was able to win his first title with the championship in 1940 . He was used in every game.
In 1942 Lupaş moved to FC Ploieşti , with whom he took part in the tournaments to bridge the league break during the Second World War . In 1944 he moved again to Venus, but no longer played a competitive game. In 1945 he returned to Gloria before he moved again to FC Ploieşti in Divizia B in 1946 . After rising in 1947 , he ended his career.
National team
Lupaş played eight games for the Romanian national team . He made his debut on June 11, 1939 in a friendly against Italy . Until the end of 1940 he was part of the selection. After a two-year hiatus, he returned against Croatia on October 11, 1942 . On June 13, 1943, he played his last international match against Slovakia .
Career as a coach
Lupaş was several times the head coach of Progresul Bucharest , with whom he reached the cup final in 1958 and there was defeated Știința Timişoara .
