Ionuț Costinel Mazilu (born February 9, 1982 in Bucharest ) is a former Romanian national football player . He played a total of 237 games in the Romanian League 1 and the Ukrainian Premjer-Liha . In 2007 he won the Romanian Cup with Rapid Bucharest .

Club career

Mazilu started his career in 1999 at Sportul Studențesc . In 2006 he achieved his greatest individual success by becoming the top scorer in the Romanian league with 20 goals. This year he also switched to Rapid Bucharest . In two years he scored a goal in nearly every other match he played.

In 2008 he moved to Ukraine to Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk , where he was active for a year before he was transferred to league rivals Arsenal Kiev in 2009 . His contract in Kiev ended in the summer of 2013. He then ended his career.

National team

Internationally, Mazilu played a total of 14 times for the Romanian national soccer team until June 2010 and scored three goals. He made his debut on June 8, 2005 against Armenia . His last appearance was on June 2, 2010 in the friendly against Macedonia .
