Ipomoea meyeri is a plant type from the genus of Morningglory ( Ipomoea ) from the family of wind plants (Convolvulaceae). It occurs on the West Indies and in Central and South America .

Ipomoea meyeri is a climbing plant with short, slender stems that are hairless to slightly hairy. The hairless leaves are broadly ovate and 4 to 10 cm long. The leaf margin is whole or spear-shaped divided into three lobes, the base is heart-shaped, the leaves are pointed to pointy towards the front.

The flowering period of the species extends from November to February. A few to several flowers are in a zymous inflorescence whose peduncle is about the same length as the pedicels . The sepals are long-lanceolate, long-linear towards the tip, 10 to 20 mm long and finely to bristly haired with protruding trichomes . The crown is 2 to 3 cm long, it is blue to purple in color and has a white throat.

The fruits are spherical capsules with a diameter of about 8 mm. The seeds are densely hairy with short trichomes.

Occurrence

Ipomoea meyeri occurs on the West Indies and in southern Mexico via Panama to northern South America .
