Irene Bell Bonong (* 6. January 1995 in Monatélé ) is a Cameroonian sprinter .

Athletic career

Irene Bell Bonong gained her first international experience at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow , where she was eliminated in the first round of the 100 and 200 meter runs . Then she was eliminated from the African Championships in Marrakech with 12.31 s in the lead and finished fifth with the Cameroonian 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 43.59 min. The following year she reached sixth place in the Africa Games in Brazzaville in 45.27 s. In 2018 she took part again in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast , where she was eliminated with 24.56 s in the lead. In addition, she reached sixth place in the Cameroonian 4 x 100 meter relay in 45.24 s. In August, she was eliminated from the African Championships in Asaba with 12.17 s in the 100-meter run in the first round and also did not reach the semifinals over 200 meters in 25.39 s.
