Irene Crepaz

Irene Crepaz (born April 17, 1945 in Zell am Ziller , Tyrol ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ).

Life

After attending compulsory school, Irene Crepaz completed an apprenticeship as a wholesale clerk .

Politically she began to appear in 1985 when she was elected deputy district chairman of her party, the SPÖ, for the Innsbruck district. In the same year she was also elected to the regional party executive of the SPÖ Tirol .

In December 1986 she was sworn in as a member of the Federal Council in Vienna , to which she was to belong for almost 15 years until March 1999. Most recently she was secretary of the second Austrian parliamentary chamber from April 1998 until she left.

But Crepaz also appeared at the European level when she became a member of the European Parliament for the SPÖ in January 1995 . It stayed there for almost two years, until November 1996. In the EU Parliament, she sat on the Committee on Social Affairs and Employment and was a member of the delegation for relations with Bulgaria and Romania .
