Irene Dukaina
Irene Dukaina ( Middle Greek Ειρήνη Δούκαινα , Bulgarian Ирина Дукина Irina Dukina , born December 2, 1066 in Constantinople ; † February 19, 1123 or 1133 ) was the Byzantine Empress as the wife of Emperor Alexios I. Komnenos . Both had seven children, including John II , Anna Komnena , Andronikos and Isaak Komnenos .
Irene Dukaina is the daughter of Marija of Bulgaria and Andronikos Dukas . On her mother's side, she is a descendant of the Bulgarian Tsar Ivan Wladislaw . Her father was a nephew of Emperor Constantine X.
