Irene Güdel

Irene Güdel (born July 7, 1930 in Aegerten ) is a Swiss cellist . From 1957 to 1995 she taught violoncello at the Detmold University of Music , since 1969 as a professor.

Life

Irene Güdel studied cello at the Bern Conservatory with Richard Sturzenegger (1905–1976), at the Paris Conservatory with André Navarra and completed her artistic training in master classes with Paul Tortelier and Pierre Fournier . She has given concerts in Europe, South America and Japan and has been invited to solo and chamber music recordings by German and Swiss radio stations. From 1953 to 1965 she was a member of the Strub Quartet in Detmold.
