Irene Usabiaga Balerdi (born September 22, 1993 in Ordizia ) is a Spanish cyclist who is active on track and road .

Athletic career

In 2010 Irene Usabiaga was the Spanish junior road racing champion . The following year she won the title of European Junior Champion in scratch . In 2012 she became the Spanish double champion of the women's elite, in points racing and in team pursuit (with Olatz Ferran and with her sister Ana Usabiaga ) on the track. In 2015 she again won the national title in the team pursuit, together with Ziortza Isasi , Ana Usabiaga and Naia Leonet .

In the same year Irene Usabiaga won at the 2015 UEC European Track Championships in Switzerland Grenchen the bronze medal in the discharged first time at European Championships elimination races ; she finished eighth in the scratch.

In addition to the older sister Ana, the older brother Pedro was also active as a cyclist until 2011.
