Irina Welihanowa (* 17th March 1996 ) is a Turkmen athlete, referring to the heptathlon specializes.

Athletic career

Irina Velihanova competed in her first international competition at the 2013 World Youth Championships in Donetsk , where she finished 3341 with 4341 points. The following year she was at the Indoor Asian Championships in Hangzhou with 2508 points tenth in the indoor pentathlon and finished the Junior World Championships in Eugene with 4347 points in 22nd place. In 2016 she was fourth at the Asian Indoor Championships in Doha with 3524 points, as well as fourth at the Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat 2017, where she reached 3787 points. The following year she won the bronze medal at the Asian Indoor Championships in Tehran with 3730 points behind Iranian Sepideh Tavakoli and Aleksandra Yurkevskaya from Uzbekistan. At the Asian Championships in Doha in 2019, she finished eighth with 5344 points.

In 2018 Welihanova became the Turkmen champion in the heptathlon and in 2017 the indoor champion in the 60 meter hurdles and in 2019 in the indoor pentathlon.
