Irma Blohm b. Wolter (born November 24, 1909 in Altona / Elbe ; † January 29, 1997 in Hamburg ) was a German CDU politician .

Life and work

Blohm, who was of Protestant faith, attended a private school, which she left with secondary school leaving certificate. Then she trained as a medical-technical assistant. In 1935 she married the doctor Never, who died in 1945. From this marriage she had two children.

After the end of the war she resumed her professional activity and worked at the University Hospital Eppendorf (UKE), where she met the doctor Blohm, whom she married in 1948. She was temporarily deputy works council chairwoman of the UKE.

Political party

Irma Blohm had been a member of the CDU since 1949, from 1957 she was deputy chairwoman of the CDU regional women's committee, from 1970 chairwoman of the same. In 1973 she became deputy chairwoman of the CDU women's association. From 1969 she was the deputy federal chairwoman of the federal committee for health policy of the CDU.

MPs

From 1949 to 1953, Ms. Blohm was a member of the Wandsbek district assembly and the Rahlstedt local committee . In 1953 she was elected to the Hamburg parliament (until 1957). In 1955 she sent them to the deputation of the social welfare authorities.

From 1957 to 1969 Irma Blohm was a member of the German Bundestag . From October 15, 1968 to 1969 she was deputy chairwoman of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group.

Honors

In 1957, Irma Blohm received the German Medical Association's Badge of Honor, and in 1868 the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st Class. In addition, she was awarded the Great Federal Cross of Merit in 1980.
