Isaac Allerton
Isaac Allerton (* 1586 , † February 1658 / 59 in New Haven ) was one of the first Pilgrims who in 1620 with the Mayflower to Plymouth relocated.
Life
He married his first wife, Mary Norris, as a young man in Leiden in November 1611. There in the parish register it was also noted that he was a tailor from London . They had three children together who survived and who were on the Mayflower. His wife was pregnant during the voyage and gave birth to a stillborn son in Plymouth Harbor. She died in the first winter in the New World that many pilgrims died. He married his second wife, Fear Brewster, in Plymouth in 1626. He had two children with her.
On the Mayflower he was one of the signatories of the Mayflower Treaty (Mayflower Compact). In 1621 he was elected assistant to Governor William Bradford and remained so until 1630. After this time he worked as a trader. Around 1634 he went to New Netherland , today's New York.
