Isabel García Petersen (born December 7, 1969 in Hamburg ) is a German speaker, speaker, author and entrepreneur.

Isabel García, born in Hamburg in 1969, is the daughter of a Spaniard and a German. She first learned to be a tax clerk. In 1994 she took first place at the "Voting Meeting 1994" of the Hamburg singer academy . From 1994 to 1997 she studied singing at the Hamburg Conservatory / University for Music and Performing Arts . She was a radio presenter for OK Radio (1996–1997), R.SH (1999–2001) and NDR 1 Radio MV (2002–2007). She also worked as a television presenter for TIDE TV . From 2003 to 2004 she completed her training as a qualified speaker at the School of Speaking in Vienna and graduated with top marks. From 2004 to 2009 she ran her own teaching institute "Ich REDE". Since 2009, she has had her own book publisher, "Stuhl Records & Books". She has been a mentor since 2012. In her mentoring program “One year trained”, García supports self-employed people, executives, speakers and authors. In 2013 she was awarded the audience award for best speaker at the Success Days in Dresden and Hamburg. In her lectures García combines lecture, singing and acting.

Since 2004 she has been giving seminars across Europe in the field of communication and rhetoric focusing on communication traps and how to avoid them, personality marketing and voice training. Her customers include Bertelsmann , Peek & Cloppenburg , InterContinental Hotels Group and Commerzbank . She published several audiobooks and the books Ich REDE. With over 85,000 copies sold, the audio book is also the most successful rhetoric audio book in Germany and has received several awards.

García developed the communication model of the elementary communication types (EKT) since the 1990s. García has taught this model in many trainings since then. The model goes back to the four juices teaching of Hippocrates of Kos . García divides her four types of communication into the elements fire, earth, water and air. All types have their strengths and weaknesses. The elements fire and earth stand for the masculine, water and air for the feminine. According to García, a person communicates best when both male and female parts are acted out. The fire man can spark enthusiasm quickly, has presence and charisma, but he has little empathy and cannot deal with conflicts. The earth man is characterized above all as impressive, convincing and sovereign. But he lacks creativity and empathy and he avoids small talk. The air woman is characterized by teamwork, creativity and communication skills. She is also curious and adventurous. The water woman has a high level of empathy and is good at building relationships. However, it is weak in making decisions. According to García, all four types can be used at will through targeted communication training, since generally all communication types are in every person. With optimal communication, the person uses all four elements equally. There are EKT trainers across Germany who teach this communication model.
