politics

Pfeiffer has been a member of the FDP and the Young Liberals since 1997 and has been a board member of the FDP in Leipzig since 2000.

In the local elections on June 7, 2009 , Pfeiffer was elected to the Leipzig City Council and on August 30, 2009 in the 2009 state elections via the state list of the FDP Saxony into the Saxon state parliament. As early as November 2009 she announced that she would resign her mandate and switch to the Saxon State Ministry for Economics, Labor and Transport under Minister Sven Morlok - also FDP - as press spokeswoman .

In January 2010, the newspapers Dresdner Morgenpost and Sächsische Zeitung speculated that Pfeiffer might be classified too high as head of department, about which the Left , SPD and Greens demanded clarification. Another criticism was that Pfeiffer did not have the university degree required to work as press spokeswoman. The Saxon FDP General Secretary Torsten Herbst rejected the claims as part of a "negative campaign [...] made up of half-truths and assumptions". A competitor's lawsuit against the assignment and classification of Pfeiffer's posts was dismissed by the Dresden Administrative Court in March 2012 .

On March 20, 2012 it was announced that the position of press spokesman in the Saxon State Ministry for Economics, Labor and Transport would be filled. Pfeiffer was entrusted with the management of the press and public relations department of the Saxon State Office for Road Construction and Transport .
