Isabella Peters (born June 9, 1983 ) is an information scientist .

Isabella Peters studied Information Science, German Linguistics and Modern German Literature from 2002 to 2007 at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf . Her dissertation in 2009 was supervised by Wolfgang G. Stock , who holds the chair in Düsseldorf Information Science. Between 2007 and 2013 she was a research assistant in the information science department at HHU Düsseldorf, where she also worked in the junior research group for science and the Internet .

Since October 2013 she has been a professor in the "Web Science" department at the "ZBW German Central Library for Economics - Leibniz Information Center for Economics" in Kiel and at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel . She is the first female university professor at the ZBW.

Peters research focuses on social tagging , user-generated content , web science and altmetrics .
