Ischen Impossible is a hip-hop group from Düsseldorf , which consists of the rappers MC Di Iva and Meli and the singer Lidia. The formation was founded in 1998 by Iva and DJ Conny.

history

From the mid-1990s, MC Di Iva and Maria, together with some DJs, organized events under the title “Ghetto Folklore” in the Düsseldorf area. Based on this work, MC Di Iva and DJ Conny founded the group Ischen Impossible in 1998. The term "Ische" is taken from the Jewish and means girl or woman. In combination with the English expression "Impossible", the band name stands for "impossible women". In addition to the two founding members, the formation varied its line-up with the singers Nina, Olivera, Bea and Andrea Canta as well as the rapper Maxine. In 2002, C'est comme ça appeared on the sampler Global Hip Hop Tunes Vol. 1 for the first time, a piece of the Ischen Impossible on a sound carrier. A year later, the group could be heard with the song Grünzeugkristalle on the sampler Dancehallfieber III . Ischen Impossible then appeared at the Ruhrfresh and Donauinsel Festival, among others. Meli, Lidia and DJ Stylo joined the formation in 2004. While Lidia appeared as the group's singer, Meli had gained experience as a rapper in solo projects, as a member of the groups Skillz En Masse and Brothers Keepers and in collaboration with Freundeskreis , Afrob and Massive Töne . DJ Stylo took over the position of DJ Conny, who concentrated on organizational tasks such as concert booking. At the end of 2004 the group was represented on the sampler Dancehallfieber 4 with the song Boom . On May 18, 2006, the debut album The Mischen followed on the label Dancehall Fieber . The group had put this together from around 80 recorded songs.
