Iscotrizinol ( USAN ) is a organische- chemical compound , which in sunscreens is used to UVB - and a part of the UVA radiation to absorb. The best protection is at 310  nm . It is one of the most photostable chemical sunscreens known today as it takes 25 hours to lose 10% of its photoprotective ability. It is marketed as Uvasorb HEB by 3V Sigma.

The molecule has two stereocenters , there are three stereoisomers :

  • ( R , R ) -form,
  • ( S , S ) -form and
  • meso shape.
