Isobel Cup

The Isobel Cup is an ice hockey trophy that has been awarded annually to the champions of the National Women's Hockey League since 2016 . The trophy is named after Lady Isobel Gathorne-Hardy , daughter of Frederick Stanley, 16th Earl of Derby . Like her father, who founded the Stanley Cup , she was very committed to ice hockey and was one of the first women ice hockey players in Canada.

The cup of sterling silver is about 38 cm high and sits on a base that is about 14 cm high. The diameter of the bowl is 30 cm, the entire trophy weighs about 7 kg. A portrait of Isobel Stanley is engraved on the base.
