István Békeffy
István Miklós Békeffy (also István Békeffi , István Békefi , Stefan Békeffy , Stephan Békeffy and Stephan Békeffi ) (born August 31, 1901 in Szeged , Austria-Hungary ; † June 9, 1977 in Budapest ) was a Hungarian comedy writer , cabaret artist and screenwriter .
Life
István Békeffy studied at the military schools in Oradea , Sopron and Budapest. In 1926 he married actress Ida Turay (1908-1997), who starred in many of his films and plays. In 1957, Békeffy moved to Switzerland with his wife . In 1971 the family returned to Budapest.
He often wrote in collaboration with László Vadnai and Adorján Stella. In total, Békeffy was involved as a screenwriter in around 60 film and television productions.
