István Stadinger

István Stadinger (born January 27, 1927 in Keszthely , Keszthely small area , Zala county ) was a Hungarian politician of the Hungarian Socialist Workers' Party MSZMP (Magyar Szocialista Munkáspárt) , who was President of Parliament from June 29, 1988 to March 8, 1989 ( Országgyűlés) of the Hungarian People's Republic .

Life

Stadinger completed his school education in Pestszenterzsébet and then trained as a flight mechanic at Budaörs Airport and studied at the Hungarian University . In April 1945 he joined the Social Democratic Party of Hungary MSZDP (Magyarországi Szociáldemokrata Párt) and was initially deputy organizational secretary of the party in his native city of Keszthely and then from September 1946 to 1948 secretary of the MSZDP committee in Zala County . On June 12, 1948 he was one of the supporters of the merger of the MSZDP with the Hungarian Communist Party MKP (Magyar Kommunista Párt) to the party of the Hungarian working people MDP (Magyar Dolgozók Pártja) . He then completed a six-month course at the party college and then in 1949 became organizational secretary of the MDP committee in Zala County and then in Baranya County .

In April 1951 he became director of the gas supply company Gázkészülékgyártó Vállalat and then in July 1954 director of the agricultural machinery factory in Törökszentmiklós , before he was director of the mill equipment company Malomgépgyár between September 1956 and February 1957 . After he was then director of the Budapesti Mezőgazdasági Gépgyárat agricultural machinery factory , he served as director of the Budapest Gas Works (Fővárosi Gázművek) between February 1, 1962 and October 31, 1978 , during which time he graduated from the Karl Marx University of Economics from. After retiring from the service of the gas works, he first became Vice-President in January 1978 and ten years later in January 1988 first Vice-President of the Budapest Municipal Council.

On June 8, 1980, Stadinger was elected for the first time as a candidate on the joint list of the Hungarian Independent Popular Front MFN (Magyar Függetlenségi Népfront) and the Patriotic Popular Front HNF (Hazafias Népfront) as a member of the Hungarian Parliament (Országgyűlés) and represented it until March 16, 1990 the constituency of Budapest 6. While he was a member of Parliament, he succeeded István Sarlós President of the National Assembly on June 29, 1988 and was President of Parliament until March 8, 1989, after which he was succeeded by Mátyás Szűrös .
