Isuf Sherifi

Isuf Sherifi (born September 17, 1967 in Tetovo , North Macedonia ) is a Macedonian writer who writes in Albanian .

Life

After school in his birthplace, he began to study Albanian language and literature at the Philosophical Faculty of Pristina in Kosovo . In 1989 he was imprisoned for his commitment to Albanian rights. Subjected to political repression, he fled after his release and emigrated to Switzerland . Isuf Sherifi lives in Wittenbach and writes poetry, prose and essays. As a result of several Swiss-Albanian poetry meetings, Isuf Sherifi published a series of poetry, each of which he dedicates to a Swiss author. Of ten planned anthologies , seven have been published so far, the last is dedicated to Joseph Kopf . His literary works, including seven books by 2010, have been published in several magazines and newspapers in North Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania and in the Diaspora.
