It's Tough to Be a Bird is an American partially animated short film directed by Ward Kimball in 1969.

action

A bird flies in the air, whistling the morning mood, and is suddenly shot. When he reached the ground, slightly charred, he agreed on the title It's Tough to Be a Bird , in which he complained about the poor treatment of birds by humans, including the use of eggs as food. The bird then proceeds to introduce the history of the birds. They started out as a fish-like creature called Ostracodermi , who evolved into a Lobefin that became a walking Tetrapoda , finally a walking Thecodontia , then a climbing Proavis and finally the bird-like Archeopteryx. Birds' suffering began with the first cavemen and their inability to fly.

Here are some explanations of proverbs and sayings ( to chicken out ) and myths about birds, such as the one about the phoenix from the ashes. The language comes from Icarus and his attempts to fly, the meaning of the dove for Noah's Ark and the influence of birds on literature, illustrated in Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven , as well as on music. From recorded film scenes of early flight attempts by humans, it goes on to extinct birds and species threatened with extinction. This is followed by a contribution with real film scenes to the National Audubon Society , which is dedicated to bird protection. From the beautiful birds to the uglier ones, like the buzzard . The talk turns to the small town of Hinckley in Ohio and its annual Buzzard Sunday , and ends with various trick assemblies about birds and their eggs.

The narrator for the film is Richard Bakalyan .
