Ivan Lenđer ( Serbian - Cyrillic Иван Ленђер , born July 29, 1990 in Zrenjanin , Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian swimmer .

Career

Lenđer, is considered to be one of the greatest hopes for young talent in Serbia. At the age of 15 he won gold over the 100 meter butterfly at the 2006 World Youth Swimming Championships in Rio de Janeiro .

Also at the European Youth Championships in the following year he won gold over 100 meters butterfly and Sibler over 50 meters butterfly.

One of his greatest achievements in his career is participating in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing . There, however, he was eliminated in the prerun over 100 Meter Butterfly and finally finished 40th. In the same year he was able to win the title at the European Youth Championships in Belgrade over 50 meters and 100 meters butterfly. At the Youth World Championships in Monterrey in 2008 he was runner-up over these same distances.

But he made his international breakthrough in 2009 when he won the title over 100 meters and the silver medal over 50 meters butterfly at the Mediterranean Games in Pescara . At the European Short Course Championships in Istanbul in 2009 , he won the bronze medal.

In 2010 Lenđer took part in the European Swimming Championships in Budapest and reached the 50 meter butterfly final where he finally finished eighth. Over 100 meters butterfly he was eliminated in tenth in the semifinals.
