Ivan Madeo

Ivan Madeo (* 1976 in Bern ) is an Italian screenwriter and film producer . The film he produced, Der Kreis by Stefan Haupt , won the Panorama Audience Award and the Teddy Award at the 2014 Berlin International Film Festival . The socially critical disaster film Heimatland , a much discussed collective work directed by 10 young Swiss filmmakers, received several national and international awards.

Life

After completing his double degree in clinical psychology and film and television journalism at the University of Friborg , he worked as a copywriter and film manager in some of the largest advertising agencies in Switzerland and Italy. His creative work in advertising has received over 70 international awards, including several Cannes Lions , Epica Awards and Eurobest Awards. At the same time he gained experience in Swiss film productions and directed short films. Since 2009 he has been developing and producing feature films and documentaries in the production company CONTRAST FILM, which he co-founded and based in Bern and Zurich. Ivan Madeo also writes scripts, for the one on the feature film Der Kreis , he received the Swiss Film Award in 2015 in the Best Screenplay category . Madeo has participated as a jury member at several international film festivals in specialty categories , including the Venice International Film Festival , the Molodist Kiev and FICG Guadalajara. He is a member of the documentary film commission at the Federal Office of Culture and a member of the European Film Academy .
