Ivan Repušić

Ivan Repušić (born 1978 in Imotski (former Yugoslavia, now Croatia )) is a Croatian conductor.

Life

Ivan Repušić studied conducting at the Music Academy in Zagreb with Igor Gjadrov and Vjekoslav Šutej . Studies with Jorma Panula and Gianluigi Gelmetti and assistance with Kazushi no at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe and Donald Runnicles at the Deutsche Oper Berlin followed . He started his career in 2002 as a conductor at the Croatian National Theater in Split , where he was chief conductor and opera director from 2006 to 2008.

From 2010 to 2013 Repušić was first conductor at the Hanover State Opera , where he directed opera performances of the repertoire. From 2012 he was Kapellmeister at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. Guest conductors led him a. a. to the Hamburg State Opera , the Semperoper Dresden and the Komische Oper Berlin , and he conducted the Orchestra Sinfonica Giuseppe Verdi di Milano, the Prague Symphony and the Slovenian Philharmonic as a guest .

From 2016 to 2019 he was general music director at the Hanover State Opera. In 2017, he succeeded Ulf Schirmer as chief conductor of the Munich Radio Orchestra .
